Types of spiritus missionaries
Missionaries
Missionaries give nine months evangelizing Catholic youth and young adults through retreats, parish youth ministry, and campus ministry.
As a community of young adults, they commit to grow as missionary disciples, living the pillars of SPIRITUS: Encountering God, Discipleship, Mission, Community, and Conversion. This missionary community is nurtured on a prayer life including daily Mass, Liturgy of the Hours, Angelus, Divine Mercy Chaplet, Eucharistic Adoration, and other personal devotions.
Missionaries fully participate in weekly formation classes, monthly spiritual direction, and ongoing ministry training.
Missionaries are provided housing, food, health insurance, formation, spiritual direction, a $175 monthly allowance, and a $3,000 completion stipend.

Interns
Some missionaries are selected to also participate in youth ministry internships. Internships with a local parish or school are available for missionaries to participate in. To be considered for an internship, indicate your interest on your missionary application. For more details on the internship, click here.
SPIRITUS Interns have the opportunity to work in local parishes and schools in youth ministry under the guidance of a mentor.
Servant Leaders
Missionaries can apply to serve a second year and additionally consider serving as a Servant Leader. Servant Leaders are second or third-year missionaries living and serving the team but interfacing between the team and SPIRITUS Leadership. Their primary focus is to help their fellow missionaries grow in virtue and holiness.
The Servant Leaders also help train and prepare new missionaries for the ministry. The Servant Leader position is a ten-month position. The benefits include housing, food, health insurance, formation, spiritual direction, and a $7,000 salary.
Abbie and Alex have returned for another year to lead SPIRITUS Team 12 as Servant Leaders. They receive many opportunities to grow in leadership and assist in the formation of team members.
