For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
History
In 1983, La Salle Retreat Center began under the direction of Dan Landowski and Richard Roller, FSC. They provided hospitality, faith formation and youth retreats. In 1999, Sister Mary Jo Kirt, OSF became the Administrator, and, the name of the center was changed to the Mount Tabor Center. The new name reflected the mission of the youth retreat facility as a place of transformation.
In 2003, Eden and Katherine Foord became the Directors of Mount Tabor Center, and the ministry began to grow at a fast pace. In 2009, SPIRITUS began in order to keep up with the growing ministry and in response to the call of Pope Benedict XVI for young adults to enter into the mission of the Church. Over the past several year, SPIRITUS expanded to multiple teams, providing the ability to inspire more than 5,300 young adults on over 150 retreats each year.
Currently, SPIRITUS evangelizes Catholic youth and young adults throughout Wisconsin through retreats and parish youth ministry. Over the past several years, SPIRITUS expanded to multiple teams evangelizing more young Catholics and giving young adults more opportunities to serve.
